PROJECT OVERVIEW

For Monet & Venice, Joya developed three fragrances inspired by Monet’s treatment of atmosphere, distance, and light. Dispersed within the museum’s rotunda, they created an olfactory prelude to the exhibition.

My contribution focused on extending that experience beyond the museum. I connected Monet’s concept of l’enveloppe—the air and light surrounding a subject—with the familiar museum postcard.

The resulting perfumed paper objects allowed visitors to carry and literally send the exhibition’s atmosphere across distances. Each fragrance was embedded in paper and housed within a postcard-format envelope referencing its corresponding painting.

The envelope became both container and concept: image, scent, message, and atmosphere in transit.

I conceptualized the product and narrative, designed the packaging system, managed production, wrote the copy, and directed its merchandising. I also directed photography and video and designed the project landing page.
